Our product provides temporary or permanent weather protection shelters for construction, snow and sun. The frame is delivered in flat pack form, hail, wind, avoiding lost time and damage caused by rain, sport and social events etc. from the vagaries of the weather, school, agriculture, saving on valuable transportation volume and costs. The lightweight of the structure allows easy transport and erection. The dead weight is more than adequate to safely anchor the frame down in all kinds of weather conditions. These containers are filled on site and drained on dismantling of the frame, thus eradicating heavy lifting. There is no need for dangerous guy ropes and steel pegs to hold down the cover, other than our specialised water containers. The steel/aluminium frame itself simply clips together, and is lined with UV friendly PVC fire retardant sheeting, and can be assembled in less than 2 days for a standard house. He invented a simple frame system that totally covers and protects building sites, enabling the building to be built under and at the same time be protected from bad weather. Douglas has been in the building industry for the last 24 years, and has first hand experience, 14 of those working for himself, at the devastation bad weather can cause on a construction site. Due to this, the project costs escalated to a point where the project had the potential to fail. While Project Managing the construction of a hotel in the Blue Mountains he was faced with continuous bad weather, thus causing constant delays. Tempa Shelters P/L was the brainchild of Douglas Blackhurst. Years of testing our frames, we have finally got a product that will be used throughout the world. Happy builder as a project that normally takes 6 months takes 3 (saving money on lost time), a happy client who is in their new house three months sooner (saving money on interest/potential property lease etc.). At the end of the day, clients don’t want to hear excuses why their house is running months behind schedule, when all they want is to move into their nice new home. Personally, as an Architectural Designer/Builder with many years experience in the construction industry, I got fed up with losing money and not satisfying clients by schedules running behind.
